[The Story] Their Shared Password

When Trishna and John meet for the first time, after years spent chatting online and over the phone, how do they recognize each other? It might be easier for Trishna because of certain events during the conclusion of Adolescence Arc “The Story,” but how about for John? Who is this girl that appeared through unforeseen circumstances? Is she really the person he’d been chatting with all these years? And, how can Trishna be so sure?

[The Story] Attending The Symphony

“I might try to sneak in on my break.[1]” “I’m sure they wouldn’t mind…[2]” How often have you heard about college students trying to sneak into a classical music performance? Let alone… attend? In “The Story,” John and Trishna are more likely to go to punk shows, and since classical music and rock music don’t often collide, what might inspire them to dress up to attend a more traditional symphony orchestra performance in downtown Eville?

[Sammohini Arc] Lemme Sit Down

“Click up there in the upper right corner, next to the X, there’s a button with a little line in it, no, up more, OK, now over to the left, other left, no, near the X, not the X, near it, where there’s a little line, not the bigger box, the little box on the left, no, not on the left side of the screen… do you mind if I sit down and do it?”

[The Story] Vertical Slice, October 2018

I’ll casually estimate that I’ve published over 80,500 words related to “The Story” as of yet, even though all content related to it could easily surpass 150,000. Everything is nebulously floating around inside my head, loosely organized, so even writing specific ideas twice each week are just subjective rough drafts. My plan is to write everything in one go after I feel confident that I can. Until then, here’s a 6,000-word vertical slice walking through “The Story.”

[Sammohini Arc] Screwed Without Drive

The new widescreen computer monitor arrived the afternoon before Sammohini, the newest member of Eville Medical’s second-level computer repair team, drove to the clinic to install it. She scheduled time in the late afternoon since it was faster to then drive to her parents’s house for the weekend from the clinic and she could drop off the old one next week. As she walked through the clinic doors carrying the monitor box, Sammohini felt nervous.

[Sammohini Arc] My Last Day?

“IT, this is Sam!”
“Hey, Sam, this is Vincent Preminger in Finance… looks like I’m locked out. Are they trying to tell me I’m fired?”
“Oh, umm… well, let’s take a look at your account!”
Sammohini clicked around on her small computer screen, through a few labyrinthine programs, before finding Vincent’s name. The rookie helpdesk technician contracting at Eville Medical looked at the account details, and with knowledge of corporate policy, proceeded to tell Vincent…

[Sammohini Arc] Five Minutes Away

The entry-level helpdesk technician looked at the clock: 4:55 PM. Five minutes until clocking out and getting a ride from her date. She was dressed up a little nicer than normal. Nothing too fancy, since it was a work evening, but it’d also been a while since they’d gone out anywhere. Just as she was starting to daydream about dinner, the Eville Medical helpdesk phone rang: “IT… this is Sammohini!” “Yeah, hello, just a quick question.”
