Years ago, somewhere, I’d heard that whereas Americans will consider their occupation as a defining characteristic of their identity in introductory conversation, Europeans might only eventually bring up their occupation. That cultural difference was fascinating. I can’t find any source, so excuse that, though I have met many zealous career-oriented individuals. How about in the world of “The Story?” How much identity do Trishna (she’s briefly able to stand) and John place in their gigs?

With summer waning, let’s cover some year-round vacationing spots that John (left) and Trishna may visit after they meet, and go to college, in this week’s brainstorming update to “The Story.” A combination of general logistics and their sedentary hobbies playing videogames, reading, and writing initially encouraged more time indoors or at home. As they meet more people in college, and discover more diverse hobbies, they’ll find appealing areas for picnics, swimming, exploring, and more.

Since I primarily type and navigate technology with my right hand’s index finger and thumb, I’ve tied these fingers together for method acting during this week’s update to “The Story” to empathize with how John (below, left) would use technology. It’s not easy! John and Trishna (right) are fortunately strong-willed characters, so let’s explore how they’ve adapted to their impairments, how their world broadly considers accessibility, and how technology has helped both them and us.
