[Grime/Glitter] Dreaming of Equality

The world would be boring if we were exactly alike. If we all had similar mental or physical traits, then perhaps most external conflicts might slow down, however I don’t think we’d become peaceful. How many conflicting thoughts do you have on a daily basis? How often do like-minded groups disagree? Instead, I think we should celebrate, explore, and learn from our differences. The more I learn from others, the more I learn about myself.

[Career Story] Five Year Plan

Thursdays have, in the recent months, been dedicated to writing about self-improvement. Through improving my space, attitude, workflow, and other areas, I’ve developed the persistence to work on bigger concepts. If any mentality or physicality were hindered by self-doubt, I’d be instead wallowing in negativity. Let’s continue that conceptual evolution by asking the big question: where do I see myself in five years? In a better spot, of course! So what’s the “getting there” plan?

[Grime/Glitter] 500 Words Daily

I wouldn’t be able to output the volume of literature I currently write [500+ words published daily] without my workflow process. I’ve covered my approach to resolving writer’s block in the “Overcoming Writer’s Block” thought piece. Let’s cover what happens when I have the semblance of an idea and how I go about turning that into a finished product. It’s not just about finding a random photo, writing for a bit, and calling it good enough.

[Sober Living] Weakness In Dreams

Starting four years and eight months ago, I began developing mental fortitude against temptation, negativity, and the stresses that would otherwise compel me to numbness through alcohol. This pursuit of sobriety propelled me into self-improvement, which I partially credit for my endurance to evade sketchy situations in my conscious life. How about in my unrestrained dreams? Where anything is possible, including finding myself pouring vodka into this very glass, splashing in some orange juice, and…

[Applied Self-Confidence] Path of Self-Discovery

I never had to seriously answer: “what you want to be when you grow up?” All I had to do was politely finish the required school work then I could lounge. Even as recently as two years ago, I worked hard at jobs, yet had no ambition toward any goals. I was content merely completing the required work so I could return to lounging. Now I’ve discovered my path and what I need to be.

[Applied Self-Confidence] Nobody Owns Me!

Even at concerts, bastions of individual and self-identity, people will jump at the chance to brand themselves. Not that I’m any different. It is, after all, more comfortable to be in a group with like-minded people, whether it’s in a concert with people that like the same sort of music you do, in a club around a hobby you like, or in a job. I think we should practice individuality as part of our self-confidence.

[Grime/Glitter] Overcoming Writer’s Block

“I have nothing to write today.” That thought stopped me in my tracks during one of my better rowing sessions. What a challenge! Let’s walk around the idea of writing blocks until we find a point to start chipping away what stops us. If writing blocks are anything like sculpting blocks, then it could be as easy as screwing inhibition and starting, although if it were that easy, then there’d be nothing after the jump.
