How much would you sacrifice to make your aspirations possible? How important is your comfort? As we grow older, there’s a growing sense of wanting more from life. For Trishna (right), she wants to go to college to fulfill her dreams and become independently successful, well, along with John (left), yet part of that means leaving her retiring service dog Pollyanna (center) and family at home. How might that answer be addressed in “The Story?”
We must follow sometimes cultural norms and other times forge our own paths. When do we decide between the two? I’ve always been guided by the path that yields the better results for my goals and aspirations. If I see the fossils of some failed beast, I steer clear, otherwise I’ll proceed toward a thriving dinosaur of wonder. How about Trishna and John? How much of “The Story” balances writing norms and blazing new trails?

While there’s something to be said for playing life safely, when the opportunity strikes, jump up on life’s stage! Get outside your comfort zone! Even for just a minute. The experience will probably be uncomfortable, you might need to push through fatigue, or embarrass yourself. You might step in spilled beer, get bumped into harmlessly, or get your picture taken. You also might not get the best shot. That’s still better than no shot whatsoever!
